A Celebration of Reading Houston

Barbara Bush hosts this exciting evening program during which best-selling authors bring their written words to life and a family literacy student tells the story of a life transformed.

Major donors meet the Bushes and featured authors before the program at the Authors' Reception and the evening culminates with an intimate supper.  All guests depart with a book written by one of the authors -- along with a renewed passion for reading.

A Celebration of Reading Houston 2009 Raises More Than $1.8 Million
Thanks to our wonderful supporters and guest authors, this year's event raised more than $1.8 million supporting family literacy programs across the United States.  

UPDATED: As a result of the generosity of Houstonians, our wonderful event has won this year's Association of Fundraising Professionals' annual award for "Outstanding Fundraising Program".
