In addition to the National grant program, across four states -- Maine, Texas, Maryland, and Florida -- the Foundation's State Literacy Initiatives focus on improving family literacy. These regionally-focused programs fund effective nonprofits and organizations that seek to improve literacy rates in their community by providing spaces and opportunities for parents and children to learn and read together.
